Poem…Ants in my House

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Here is the 2nd poem written by our new customer Sue about the ants she had in her home before Preventive Pest Control came to service.  The 1st poem can be found here.

Ants in My House

First mice in the house and now there are ants,

They all march in a line, almost seeming to dance…

They waltz on the counters and tango in the sink,

In and out of the outlet, like skaters on a rink…

Those black little critters come in and go out,

Searching and smelling for food, no doubt…

They make quite a pattern as they come and they go

Marching and dancing and skating, oh no!!

How do they know from their secret hiding place,

That there’s a crumb on the counter from a donut that was glazed?

Somehow their sniffers must be truly high tech,

But the point to this poem is they’re making me a wreck!

I get out the Raid and kill the ones in sight,

But more come out in the wee hours of the night.

They dance and they skate and they march in a line,

But curve around those dead ants, all ready to dine,

On a morsel, a dribble, a crumb or a spill

I swear all these ants are making me ill!!

Poem…Mouse in my House

Monday, April 25th, 2011

A few weeks ago one of our faithful customers referred their neighbor to our Preventive Pest Control service.  As we went by the new customer’s home she was excited for the service and told us she had even written some poems recently about the little things getting in.  She has graciously aloud us to share her thought here…can any of you relate?  This first poem is about mice:

I Have a Mouse in my House

There’s a mouse in my house,

Nope…there’s three, oh no seven!

Holy Moly, these mice need

to see mousy heaven!!!

So out with the traps

and the arsenic too….

I bought D-Con and stickies

To catch twenty two?

Under the stove and behind

my new fridge..

They’re in cupboards and spaces….

Inside the door hinge….

Where do they come from

I want to know…

Why do they come in

to bother me sooooooooo???!!!

Well….9 dead in the traps,

and now in my trash,

Two flushed down the sewer

For the system to hash…

I’m sick and I’m wobbly

as I see beedy eyes

Staring back under the stove

This will be my demise…..

There are 20, no 40, no 80

me thinks….

This whole brand new house,

stinks, stinks, stinks, stinks!!!!

I’m sure I’m at war. I’ll win

wait and see…..

You rodents…watch out

Ouch…..did one just bite me????????????

Earth Day

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

We recently received the following compliment from Richard “Bugman” Fagerlund and thought we would share it with you all:

A lady asked me the other day why I only recommend Preventive Pest Control for any pest control. Apparently she has some friends or relatives that I recommended you to. I told her there was a very good reason and I think, since it is Earth Day, I should share it with you.

Recently the Supreme Court said that corporations have the same rights as people. I don’t necessarily agree with that, but if they do, they should be held to the same standards, and not just corporations, but any company.

Everyone and every company has evolved to some degree, or, hopefully will. There are three tiers of evolution in my opinion. A single-tier company is mired in matters of the body (money, power, possessions, competitiveness and profit). Most pest control companies fall into this category. Some companies have evolved to the second tier which includes the mind (companionship, creativity, stimulation of new thoughts and ideas, new goals, new challenges and company growth. This is very good and only a few companies have attained this level. A very few, and Preventive is one of them, have evolved to the third level, which includes matters of the soul (life purpose, relationship to the environment, path of evolution, harmony and cooperation with clients and ultimate destiny). You are definitely a three-tier company and one of the very few in this industry.

You practice cooperation; cooperation with your customers, with the state and certainly with the environment. Most other companies practice competitiveness, which means they are only in business to make a buck. There isn’t anything wrong with making money, but not at the expense of customer’s health and the environment. Keep up the good work and Happy Earth Day and Happy Easter to you, your families and to your associates and their families.

Feel free to share this with anyone you want as it is all true!

Dick

President Obama supports pest control

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Watch President Barack Obama’s lightning-fast reflexes as he swats that fly during a CNBC interview:

As soon as the interview was over he called Preventive Pest Control to set up service for the White House.  OK…so that isn’t really true, but it is great to see our fearless leader supporting pest control.

As the summer continues on it is important to realize that certain pests – flies, stinging insects, and ants – are more than just a nuisance but can pose serious health risks to your family. Whether trying to prevent pests from interrupting a news interview or interrupting a summer BBQ in your backyard, call Preventive Pest Control today and let us handle the dirty work.

How to get rid of scorpions in and around your home

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Scorpions and the Sonoran Desert go hand in hand.

Phoenix is home to more than 40 different species of scorpions but only one is considered to be dangerous to humans. Most scorpion stings will have the same effects as a bee sting.

Itching, burning, and redness around the immediate area are common, however the sting of the bark scorpion is more serious.

The sting of the bark scorpion is usually very painful at the site of the sting.

It can cause difficulty breathing, foaming at the mouth, muscle twitching and even convulsions.

Children and the elderly are more susceptible to complications from scorpion stings but no deaths have been reported from scorpion stings in decades.

Most people that have lived in Arizona for any amount of time have seen one of these pests.

They are scary looking creatures that invoke fear in people’s heart.

They call their pest control company only to be told that scorpions cannot be killed.

This just is not true. There are quite a few products that are actually labeled to kill scorpions.

The great thing is these products are still environmentally friendly.

You don’t have to endanger your family to get rid of scorpions.

A trained pest management professional can inspect your home and recommend a treatment program to get rid of your scorpion problem completely.

It will not be overnight but it can be done.

Preventive Pest Control uses multiple products that can get rid of your scorpion problem.

We actually guarantee it. Scorpions are probably the most common pest people complain about when they call Preventive Pest Control.

On top of a good maintenance program there are plenty of things that can be done to help prevent scorpions in our yards.

Scorpions do not actually nest like other pests do. They wander around at night looking for food, water, and shelter. If they find a place that they like, they stay.

If one scorpion likes your yard, chances are others will as well.

That is why some houses have such a problem with scorpions.

That means if we make our yard less appealing to scorpions it will help keep them from staying on our property.

Eliminating food sources helps a lot to get scorpions to move on.

A regular pest treatment to eliminate crickets and roaches gets rid of the food sources.

Eliminate any excess water. Broken sprinklers or pipes and over watering give scorpions the water they need to survive the harsh desert.

Scorpions love piles of debris including wood, rocks, leaves, bricks, or garbage.

It offers them plenty of hiding places to get away from predators. Cleaning these up eliminate the amount of places they can hide.

It is impossible to eliminate all food, water, and shelter for scorpions.

Doing what we can in the yard along with using a good maintenance program will make it possible to live without fear of scorpions.
